Greetings from Juneau!

I have brief window of internet access before the cruise ship rounds a bend and we are a mountain away from the nearest cell phone tower. I am on an Alaska cruise, my first cruise, and it is a trip. I have landed on a boat with a sea of old fogies and overpermed young married couples in track wuits and jean shorts. Aside from the chocolate covered bacon I had for breakfast (it was an accident, I swear), the only thing of note is that I have seen a lot of really glorious nature and have done damage to my credit card in the bar with panoramic views. A few glaciers, about 12 humpback whales, an orca, a few porpoises, 2 albatrosses, a puffin, a heron, a seal, several bald eagles, and so on. Will upload pictures when I hit Seattle again. At the moment, it is 11pm and I am watching the world's slowest sunset from the aft deck, while splitting a few bottles of wine with my friends. Life is good.
