Meet Sam, three-time winner of Santa Barbara's World's Ugliest Dog Contest. I thought my dad had a pretty nasty dog in Larry, who does little more than hack and sputter, and who requires a person to wipe his ass after he goes. However, Sam takes the cake. Spooky dog.

I feel like I ought to be writing an entry about my fabulous trip to Alaska, or an essay on the joys and agonies of visiting family, but today I'm feeling like I ought to make a dent in my To Do list on my first full day in Philadelphia. I also worry that that other news is already stale in my frantic imagination. Hmm...
